Conference Entertainment

Wednesday evening, October 6, 2004:
7:00 pm - open house was held for PAS attendees to tour the NCVS Tramway Facilities (Click here for the area map)
7:30 pm - a short vocal recital of music by English composers of the late 19th and 20th centuries by Mary Enid Haines, soprano, and J.R. Fralick, tenor.
A light dessert will followed the recital.
Ms. Haines is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Ottawa, while Mr. Fralick is on the voice faculty at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory in Cleveland, Ohio. Both are graduates of the NCVS Summer Vocology Institute.

Thursday evening, October 7, 2004 options:
Free demonstrations of voice technology/resources by Donald Miller (Voce Vista) and Lisa Popeil (DVD on different types of vocal production), 7-9 pm. Were held at the NCVS (1101 13th Street, 4th floor, one block from the conference hotel)

Clayne Robison, Voice Faculty, Brigham Young University, UT, will debut his new video, "Beautiful Singing: Not Just for the Chosen" in the NCVS lobby.

Friday evening, October 8, 2004 entertainment:
Free night to explore Denver. Entertainment options included:
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Peter Oundijan, guest conductor. The concert included Maratka: Otisk; Mozart: Symphony No. 38, "Prague"; Dvorak: Symphony No. 9, "From the New World." The concert was held in Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex (across the street from the ETI).

Saturday evening, October 9, 2004 entertainment options:
Guest artist recital by Robin Blitch Wiper, soprano, and Mutsumi Moteki, piano. Free to all conference registrants. The concert was held at the University of Colorado at Denver King Center Recital Hall, walking distance from the hotel.

Robin Blitch Wiper recently made her Metropolitan Opera debut in her role as Constance in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites on December 26, 2002, for more information , please see her bio at: http://ageorge.dezines.com/wiper.html.
