Eric J. Hunter is the Associate Executive Director as well as an associate research scientist at the National Center for Voice and Speech. At the University of Utah, he is an adjunct professor in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering (College of Engineering) and the Division of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery (School of Medicine), as well as in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (College of Public Health), where he teaches Hearing Science. He also teaches Voice Instrumentation (a University of Iowa Communication Sciences and Disorders course) at the NCVS’s Summer Vocology Institute.
After receiving his B.S. and M.S. in Physics, he received the National Research Service Award traineeship to complete his PhD in Speech and Hearing Science from The University of Iowa. Dr. Hunter now uses this background in physics and acoustics to study all aspects of the voice mechanism (anatomy, biomechanics, acoustics, etc). |
