FEATURED SPEAKER:
SPEAKER BIO: Katherine Verdolini Abbott is Professor of Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also holds appointments in the Department of Otolaryngology, the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and the Carnegie-Mellon University of Pittsburgh Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition. Her clinical and research interests center on voice: the biomechanics of voice production, its biological consequences, links between emotions and voice, and perceptual-motor learning principles applied to voice. She has received continuous funding as Principal Investigator for her research from the National Institutes of Health since 1997. She is former Editor, Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research and a Fellow and Honors Recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
